Where to use Isolon 300 and which thickness to choose

Roll-form chemically cross-linked PE foam (4–10 mm). For boards / mats >10 mm use the sheet range (Isolon 300 sheets).

Application Recommended thickness Notes
Laminate / parquet underlay 4–5 mm Reduces impact noise, adds resilience. Requires a flat base; joints should be taped.
Underlay for low-temperature underfloor heating 4–5 mm For low-temperature systems. Foil-faced / perforated grades are possible; follow the system supplier’s guidelines.
Interlayer pads / packaging 4–8 mm Separating layers, protection against scratches and impacts. Cut to sheets or tapes.
Sealing tapes / anti-squeak 4–5 mm (slit rolls) Slitting from roll into tapes; optional self-adhesive layer (acrylic adhesive).
Acoustic underlay (floating floor) 4–5 mm Reduces impact noise. Tape joints and avoid rigid “bridges”.
Air ducts (HVAC), panels 5–10 mm Thermal / vapour insulation, often foil-faced. Seal joints with aluminium tape.
Pipe insulation (wrap-around) 5–10 mm Spiral wrapping in 1–2 layers, fixed with tapes; thickness depends on pipe diameter and service conditions.

For 1–3 mm thickness other product ranges / grades are usually used. Standard roll thicknesses for Isolon 300 are 4–10 mm.

Task: reduce impact noise and speed up installation. Solution: Isolon 300 4 mm with taped joints. Result: quieter stairwells and corridors, faster installation.

Wrapping round and rectangular ducts with Isolon 300 8 mm (LA/LM). Reduced heat losses and a neat appearance; joints sealed with aluminium tape.

Slitting 5 mm rolls into tapes with acrylic adhesive. Result: eliminated panel squeaks and parasitic vibrations, reduced customer complaints.
